Call for protest through social media demanding job security for IT and ITES Employees

Dear all,

During this covid-19 period the IT and ITES multinational companies like Cognizant, Wipro, Hexaware, Capgemini, Accenture and others are illegally retrenching thousands of employees across the country. Quarterly reports of these companies show more than 25000 IT & ITES Employees lost employment during this pandemic period.

The profit and revenue during the Pandemic global lockdown, has not reduced and some sections of business are even growing. Inspite of continuing profits and revenue, these IT & ITES MNCs are illegally retrenching employees in the name of role rationalisation, cost-cutting, growth plan, performance review, etc.. These retrenchments are against the law of the land, but the Government and its Ministry of Labour and Employment are mere bystanders to this cruel spectacle.

UNITE requests the IT and ITES employees to register their dissent against the Government’s inaction and the MNCs unlawful retrenchments on 9th August 2020 10 am by,

1) Taking a selfie with the demands poster and posting it in the social media.

2) Keeping the demands poster as story and status in Whatsapp and other social media.

3) Using UNITE’s demands frame along with your profile picture.

Lets stand by the affected employees, as it can happen to us, to our family members, to our friends and to our colleagues. Let’s protest against the injustices and illegal retrenchments.
